Scott Boyd

Pastor

PREACHER MAN- Carol and I have had the incredible joy of leading Temple since 1998. I preach, but it is Carol who leads our awesome Praise Band in worship. They call us “the little church that could”, the “church of the open arms”, but more than anything else we are the church “where love found me.” And if you hang out with us long enough, God’s love will find you too.

FAMILY MAN- Carol and I have been married over 39 years. We have three children, Kevin and his wife Kristi, Marissa and her husband Vince, and Kiersten. We also have two grandchildren, Wesley, 5 yrs old, Lacey, 3 yrs old, and a third grandson on the way. And there is nothing I love more than the happy sounds of family in our home.

MILITARY MAN- I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with the class of 1981 and proudly served our nation for over 31 years on both active duty and in the reserves. In December 2019 I retired as a Chaplain, Colonel in the United States Army Reserves.

Maggie Isaac

Administrative Assistant

After retiring from my twenty-three-year career as a Director in Student Services at Parkland College, I enjoyed five years as an administrative assistant/bookkeeper at English Center USA working with international students. When English Center USA downsized to only offering individual tutoring to these students, I found a new career home at Temple Baptist Church in October 2015. I feel blessed to work in a church community that is so generous and welcoming. When I’m not in the church office (which would be anytime that is not Monday, Wednesday, or Friday between 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.), I love spending time with my granddaughter, who attends Parkland college; my younger daughter who works at the University of Illinois; and my older daughter who lives in Boston. I also treasure any time that I can crochet, knit, scrapbook, color, visit thrift shops, or complete crossword puzzles.
