“Bringing People Closer To God Through Jesus Christ”
In living out our vision of Bringing People Closer To God Through Jesus Christ, Temple Baptist Church has earned the awesome reputation of being “The Church of the Open Arms.”
God has brought to us ministries to the residents in the Eden Supportive Living Center, the cadets in the U of I ROTC programs, the students in our Conversational English Groups (CEGs), the members in the Champaign Chinese Christian Church, and the children enrolled in the My Morning Out Preschool Program.
At Eden we sponsor a weekly bible study, provide transportation to bring handicap residents to worship, and host various events throughout the year.
Our sponsored missionary to the UofI ROTC cadets, Daniel Jones, participates in physical training (PT), leads devotionals, ministers to their spiritual needs, and invites them to Temple.
Each Thursday night Duane and Alice Davis ensure meals are provided for our CEG students. During our CEGs the students eat home cooking, discuss stories from the Bible, play games, and experience the love of our church family.
The Champaign Chinese Christian Church shares all of our facilities, is very active in the local Chinese community, and sees numerous baptisms each year.
My Morning Out shares our Educational Building and provides child care and educational opportunities to young families in the Champaign-Urbana community.
Finally, our Community Groups meet throughout the week and provide opportunities to experience community, explore the Bible, and grow spiritually
We are truly “The Church Of The Open Arms” and we would look forward to opening our arms to you.
